Author, JASNA-SW Newsletter editor, and longtime member Diana Birchall remembers the past only as it gives us pleasure. Accompanying her piece is the 1984
People article on our region.

Program Highlights:

Margery Rich, longtime JASNA-SW member, gave a fascinating talk on Pride and Prejudice as a detective novel.

Lynda Hall from Chapman University gave us a new perspective on Austen's most controverisal work with “Addressing Readerly Unease: Discovering the Gothic in Mansfield Park.”

There was also a special, audience-participation event that explored "our mysterious longing for Jane Austen."
