Local reading groups allow Janeites in Southern California the opportunity to read and discuss works by Jane Austen, her contemporaries, and even our own contemporaries who write about the period or in some way remind us of Jane. We have several active reading groups in our Region.
Each reading group sets its own reading plan and meeting dates. Some groups are more formally structured than others. If you are thinking about joining a reading group, please contact one of the coordinators listed below. If you don't find a group near you, please consider organizing a new group in your area. LONG BEACH READING GROUP: The Long Beach group meets every 4-6 weeks, on Saturdays at 11am. The last meeting was on Saturday June 12 at 11:00 AM at Margot Scheibe's home in Westminster to discuss CAN YOU FORGIVE HER? by Anthony Trollope. ORANGE COUNTY READING GROUP: This group holds its meetings every two months, on the third Sunday of month at 1:30.
